Last year, Amazon introduced a pretty crazy concept in terms of home security and that is the Ring Always Home Cam. This is essentially a home security video device plugged into a drone that allows you to basically monitor your entire home as opposed to regular home security cameras that can only monitor one room at a time.
The good news is that Amazon announced that customers can purchase the system through an invitation program if they are interested in the Always Home Cam. It is currently only available in the US and customers must request an invite to purchase it. Hence, chances are you might not get your hands on it.
As a summary for those first hearing about it, the Always Home Cam is a drone with a ring video camera attached underneath. Users can create a path for the drone to fly. It also works with other motion or contact sensors where the drone can take off and see what happens when those sensors are triggered.
Knowing where to fly to will not be smart enough so users will have to create their own flight routes in advance. The drone docks in a box when not in use so you don’t have to worry about it spying on you. The Amazon Ring Always Home Cam is $ 250 and you can sign up for an invite on the Ring website.
