  • WhatsApp has quietly introduced the ability to create your own stickers.
  • However, this seems to be limited to beta users on the desktop.

Sticker packs are a popular alternative to emojis on WhatsApp and other platforms and give you more ways to express yourself. The only downside to WhatsApp’s sticker feature is that you can’t create it in the app, but that’s changing.

Series tipster Mukul Sharma (h / t: 91mobiles) discovered a button in a beta version of WhatsApp that you can use to create your own stickers. Sharma confirmed to Android Authority that the feature is currently working and available via WhatsApp Web.

In retrospect, we were able to confirm that the function is actually available to us and that we can create stickers from photos on our PC. The sticker creation feature also provides tools to accurately crop the image, crop / rotate, and undo / redo changes. See a screenshot below.

This would be a welcome change from the current situation as WhatsApp is currently prompting users to install separate sticker apps from the Play Store. The command prompt does not direct users to a specific app, it simply does a search for “WASticker”.

There’s no official word on when this feature will be rolled out to everyone (not just beta users), nor is there a word on whether this will come to WhatsApp on smartphones. But creating stickers on the phone definitely seems like a breeze.
