Huawei has just officially confirmed that it will announce the new Huawei Watch GT Runner in China on November 17th. The watch is aimed primarily at professional athletes and runners. The watch provides precise information about the pace and mileage, the distance covered and the heartbeats per minute.

The smartwatch will have a circular design and likely have a rotating crown on the top right and a traditional button (via GSMArena) on the bottom right. The bottom of the device will likely support the company’s proprietary wireless charging method and other sensors to help track heart rate and more.

We don’t currently have any information on the specs of the device, but when it comes to the recently announced Huawei Watch GT 3, we expect a size or two, 46mm and 42mm. Battery life is expected to be about a week or more, depending on how it is used.

The sensors are expected to check the heart rate, provide sleep tracking, have additional tracking capabilities for runners, and check for SpO2. The Watch GT 3 had 8 sensors, and it can be assumed that the new Watch GT Runner will offer similar functionality, with some additional features aimed at professionals.

The Huawei Watch GT Runner will also have dual frequency GPS that offers 135% improved performance to accurately track workouts, as shown in a promotional image. The watch is also likely to run Huawei’s own HarmonyOS, launching in China on November 17th. We have no information on whether this will be done outside of the country, but we expect it to be available in Asia and Europe. The price is not known yet, but we’ll just have to sleep a few more days to find out.
