An update on the Apple website describing iOS 15 stated that the feature is planned for “early 2022”. The change was discovered by MacRumors on Tuesday.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In September, the company announced the first line of states to keep the feature. It was originally introduced at.
