OnePlus is apparently working on the second generation of its OnePlus Buds Z, and the latest leaks reveal almost everything you need to know about the cheaper OnePlus Buds Z2.

The guys at GizNext have apparently revealed official pictures of the OnePlus Buds Z2. The new generation of affordable true wireless earbuds is said to hit the market in October, and users can choose between two color options, Night Black and Day White. However, don’t expect any crazy changes in the design of these earbuds as they look very similar to the original OnePlus Buds Z, which hit the market back in October 2020.

Still, the new OnePlus Buds Z2 will be better than their predecessors as they supposedly come with three microphones for active noise cancellation. Also, they have some design changes that allow them to handle wind better and the best part is that they are water and sweat resistant as they now have IP55 certification. On the other hand, the charging case only has IPX4 water resistance.

Also, being the second generation of OnePlus’s budget-friendly Buds Z, they’ll be missing certain features found on higher-end, more expensive headphones. For example, the OnePlus Buds Z2 don’t support Bluetooth 5.2, so your listening experience will be based on the basic AAC and SBC audio streaming codecs.

If we go to the battery department, we will find 40 mAh batteries in every bud, while the charging case supposedly has a capacity of 520 mAh. The most important aspect of this case, however, is that it supposedly charges from 0 to 100 percent in ninety minutes, allowing users up to 27 hours of listening time with noise cancellation enabled or up to 38 hours without AND. Additionally, each earbud is expected to have up to five hours of playtime with the ANC on or seven hours with the ANC off. Unfortunately, the OnePlus Buds Z2 don’t support wireless charging, but at least they charge via a USB-C cable.
