Bluepoint Games, the developer of the PS5 Demon’s Souls remake, is now part of PlayStation Studios.
Sony has acquired Bluepoint Games, the developer who makes excellent remakes like thePrevious generation Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus. It’s also known for the remastered Uncharted trilogy and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Sony noted that the remake of Demon’s Souls has sold more than 1.4 million copies since it was released as a PS5 launch title last November.
“There is a long history of trust between Bluepoint and Sony Interactive Entertainment,” said Marco Thrush, President of Bluepoint, in a press release. “Our first game, Blast Factor, was a PS3 launch title, and our most recent title, Demon’s Souls, was ready to be a challenge for the PS5 launch audience. We share the same values and are equally determined to make great new games . “
This comes as no surprise as PlayStation Japan accidentally tweeted an image mentioning a Bluepoint acquisitionwhen the company announced it was buying Developer Housemarque.
