Samsung’s glossy Galaxy Chromebook Go is now out there for $ 300

The pure Wi-Fi version of the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Go is available now. The device is being marketed as “thinner and lighter” than other Chromebooks and will be officially available on July 15 on Samsung.com for $ 300.

For the $ 300 price tag, there are plenty of basic specs here for an entry-level Chromebook. Under the hood is an Intel Celeron N4500 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM. The storage is 32GB and the resolution of the display is 1366 x 768. That’s not Full HD, but considering it’s an entry-level Chromebook, that’s the price.

With a 14-inch screen, the Galaxy Chromebook Go weighs around 3 pounds, which makes it perfect for commuting to and from work or school. It’s also made with a military design so it can withstand drops, dents, and even spills. Samsung even uses USB-C charging on this device, so you can enjoy up to 12 hours of battery life. This is not entirely common with budget Chromebooks.

Elsewhere, this is a well-connected machine. You will find 2 USB Type-C ports, 1 USB 2.3 port, a microSD card, a multimedia card reader and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Like most modern Chromebooks, the Galaxy Chromebook Go has support for Wi-Fi 6, which Samsung claims can be three times faster than the previous generation of Wi-Fi.

Finally, since this is a Chromebook, you get some synergy between Android and ChromeOS. That includes Near Share on Chrome OS and the Phone Hub, which lets you access recently opened Chrome tabs, find your phone, and even share your phone’s cellular connection.

If you’re looking for something premium, we recommend the high-end Galaxy Chromebook 2 with Samsung Spen support and a convertible design with touch support. The Samsung Chromebook is priced at $ 700, which is way above the Galaxy Chromebook Go’s budget-friendly option of $ 300.

Samsung says a new twist on the Galaxy Chromebook Go is coming soon. An LTE version will be available from AT&T and Verizon in the coming weeks.

Galaxy Chromebook Go is just one of Samsung’s Chromebooks. Other models include the original Galaxy Chromebook, Chromebook 4+, and Chromebook 4, and Chromebook 3. Samsung also offers Windows laptops, with product lines including the Galaxy Book Pro, Galaxy Book Pro 360, and the affordable Galaxy Book Go.
