Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic, two of Ubisoft’s major upcoming games, have been postponed. This is the second time both games have been postponed, as Rainbow Six Extraction (then quarantine) was originally scheduled to be released in 2020 and Riders Republic was originally scheduled for February 2021.
Rainbow Six Extraction’s Twitter account posted a statement this afternoon that the game has been postponed to January 2022, which is September 16. Riders Republic wasn’t pushed back quite as far. A Ubisoft blog post from the development team stated that the game has been postponed from the original September 2nd release date to October 28th.
We are postponing the release of Rainbow Six Extraction to January 2022.
We will use this time to make sure we bring this full, collaborative and exciting experience to life as we prepare to bring you a truly one-of-a-kind Rainbow Six game.

Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic were both big parts of Ubisoft’s E3 presentation and should be big fall releases for the publisher. It’s unclear why both games were postponed so close together.
The Rainbow Six Extraction statement said the development team will “use this time to make sure we bring this immersive, collaborative and exciting experience to life,” while the Riders Republic blog post says the team will “have more time fine-tuning “takes the experience and gives you one more chance to jump in before launch.” It’s not clear if future betas from Riders Republic will be affected as well.
Riders Republic and Rainbow Six Extraction aren’t the only games that have been postponed lately. Resident Evil Re: Verse, an upcoming multiplayer mode for Resident Evil Village players, was recently postponed to 2022. Numerous games have faced delays throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, with studios citing pandemic stress and other issues behind the delays.
Both statements from Ubisoft contained the promise to release more information “soon”, but it remains to be seen whether fans will see any significant news before the new game release dates.
