  • Information suggests that OnePlus could rename the China-only 9RT to OnePlus RT.
  • This would be for the supposedly imminent launch of the phone in India.
  • It’s not at all clear why the company would change the name of the phone as it appears to be the same phone.

OnePlus launched a flagship product every year. Then it started putting two on the market: one in the first half and a T-series model in the second. Then the Pro variants were introduced. After that, it announced the north line. Then the north-n line. And then, that year, it launched the OnePlus 9R, a 9-series model only available in India.

It later announced a China-only model called the OnePlus 9RT, even after the company announced that there would be no T-series models in 2021. Now, according to the Google Play Console (via Mukul Sharma and h / t Android Central), the company could rename the 9RT to OnePlus RT for the Indian market.

In other words, the OnePlus 9RT in China would become the OnePlus RT in India. Otherwise, the phones would be identical. To freshen up, that means a Snapdragon 888 processor, a 120 Hz OLED display, a rear view camera with three lenses, and a design that looks very similar to the OnePlus 9 Pro.

Basically, the OnePlus RT would criticize some elements of the OnePlus 9 and mix them with the Nord series. It would be another stepping stone between the mid-range and main flagship lines – though the OnePlus 9R, another India exclusive, has already done so. But well.

With this phone now available on the Play Console, it shouldn’t be long before the Indian market sees it.
