Moderna wants the full approval of the US Food and Drug Administration its manage Coronavirus vaccination The company announced on Monday for people over the age of 18. The vaccine is administered to adults in America under an emergency use authorizationwhich was granted in December.

Last week the drug company said its vaccine was effective for 12 to 17 year olds, and it will apply for approval to give its vaccine to teenagers this month.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 124 million doses of Moderna’s vaccine had been administered in the US as of Monday. Competing vaccine maker Pfizer filed for full approval last month and more than 159 million doses of its vaccine have been administered.
