If you’re looking for a pair of true wireless earbuds that won’t break the bank, Google might be there for you. Much like the company’s Pixel A-series phones, Google has since announced the Pixel Buds A-series, which will follow a similar theme and will offer the Pixel Buds at a much cheaper price of $ 99.
Sonically, the Pixel Buds A-Series will offer the same sound quality as last year’s Pixel Buds, except cheaper, which is definitely a good thing. However, it has a new design that Google says comes with a “soft seal” and spatial ventilation designed to help normalize ear pressure so you can wear it for longer periods of time.
There are also built-in beamforming microphones that improve audio quality when making calls and help the Google Assistant better hear your commands. Unfortunately, given the price, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it doesn’t come with noise-canceling technology. However, Google says they have introduced an Adaptive Sound feature that is supposed to automatically adjust the volume based on the ambient noise.
The Pixel Buds A-series battery life seems pretty normal, and Google says they last around 5 hours on a single charge, and the carrying case will add another 24 hours. The Pixel Buds A-series are also designed with an IPX4 rating so they can withstand a little moisture like sweat. If you’d like to pick them up, they’re currently available for pre-order and will be available on June 17th.
