The Operation: Sky Fire playlist will open 30 minutes before the event starts. It is therefore recommended to log in early and reserve a seat. According to Epic, you can join the lobby with up to 15 friends and experience the event together.
What is Operation: Sky Fire?
Epic has been quiet about what the Operation: Sky Fire event will bring with it, but there have been a few tidbits. According to the studio, you will “join a strike team and sneak aboard the mothership to deliver the final message from IO to the invading aliens” to complete the story threads that have run through the season. Epic has also told players that they “should definitely wear appropriate disguise – intruding into an alien spaceship should be done in style”.
Season 7 checklist
Since Operation: Sky Fire marks the end of Chapter 2, Season 7, there is very little time left to complete any outstanding challenges and consume resources that you have accumulated this season. Epic has released a checklist of things players should do prior to the Operation: Sky Fire event:
- Spend gold bars.
- Spend alien artifacts on Kymera styles and options.
- Complete the remaining epic quests.
- Complete Superman quests before 4pm Eastern Time on September 12th.
- Exchange Battle Stars for rewards.
When does season 8 start?
Epic has not officially confirmed when Chapter 2, Season 8 of Fortnite will begin. Traditionally, however, a new season of the game has started shortly after one of these season highlights, so Season 8 is expected to begin on September 13th. Epic also typically uses these season finale events to make various changes to the game, so we’ll likely get our first look at the Season 8 theme during Operation: Sky Fire.
