With the Unpacked Event held this August, it’s clear that Samsung is aiming to make foldable devices more common with annual improvements to its portfolio of such devices. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the latest addition to the Fold lineup, the first iteration of which was in hot water due to confusion around removing the screen protector at startup. Will this protector still be a problem after a few years or can it be removed from the Z Fold 3?

Unlike the original Galaxy Fold, the Z Fold 3 will not be inoperable if you remove the screen protector. That means: Yes, you can remove the screen protector, although Samsung opposes it in the care instructions for the foldable display. They also suggest not using any third-party accessories that have not received official approval.

Here at Pocketnow, Jaime mentioned to me that while he didn’t like the screen protectors on the original Fold and Z Fold 2, he didn’t feel like removing the film on the latest generation.

As you may know, the Z Fold 3 also supports the use of an S Pen, although it must be the Fold Edition unit or the S Pen Pro. These buttons have a feature on their tip that allows it to be retracted so that there is no excessive pressure on the screen unless you are intentionally trying to damage it.

If you’ve stolen your screen protector and want to replace it, Samsung offers a service for it, although the exact cost is unknown. But if you damaged the screen yourself, it will cost you $ 479 to fix it. For Samsung Care Plus, that’s $ 249.
