Last week it was reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 could have had a production problem. It is unclear what this will mean for launch as a few different scenarios could play out such as:
It turns out that it will likely be the latter scenario. That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who claims in his latest Power On newsletter that Apple will likely announce the Apple Watch Series 7 alongside the iPhone 13 later this month, but the smartwatch’s inventory may be limited at the start.
Gurman also states that in the case of the Apple Watch, the reason for the delay does not seem to be the global chip shortage, but rather the new and larger display that is causing problems in production. Note that Gurman’s predictions are his own and are not told by a source. As such, there is a chance Apple’s plans could vary.
It is not yet known when the iPhone 13 event will take place. Many believe it will be this month, but no one can say when exactly, as Apple hasn’t officially announced anything yet.
