The Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to appear in September along with the iPhone 13. However, there is a possibility that it will either not hit the market on time or at least the supply will be extremely limited at the beginning. This comes from separate reports from Nikkei and Bloomberg, both of which claim production has been delayed.
According to the reports, the small series production of the Apple Watch had already started, but apparently because of “critical challenges in achieving a satisfactory production output”, production is said to have been temporarily suspended. Apple is said to be working with its suppliers to get to the bottom of the problem before production resumes.
It is unclear what could be wrong with the production. For the most part, the Series 7 is expected to be internally similar to its predecessor. While there will be an updated chipset, there are no new sensors and most of the changes will be outwardly in the design, so the new design may cause a problem for Apple and its manufacturing partners.
In any case, it will only become clear with time whether this catch will lead to the Apple Watch Series 7 being announced at a later date, or whether it will be announced but will be launched later with a limited supply at the start.
