A new report from Nikkei Asia suggests that we may be nearing the launch of Apple’s new AirPods 3. Now, this doesn’t mean we will get a likely launch window, but at least this new information claims Apple could start mass production of these new headphones next month.
Apple appears to be preparing to ship several new products by the end of the year. In fact, the company has already shown us the new M1-powered iPad Pro models and the new iMac with multiple color options. However, we’re still waiting for the new iPhone 13 models, a new 14-inch MacBook Pro, as well as a 16-inch MacBook Pro upgrade, and yes, we’re still waiting for the third-generation AirPods.
Now, we expect the new AirPods 3 to hit the market since May, but we’re still waiting. Still, we have good news as these new earbuds could start mass production in August so they could be launched in 2021. And if we’re going to be bold, we might as well assume that the new earbuds could arrive this September to share the spotlight with the new iPhones.
This is now pure speculation as we could get the new AirPods along with other Apple products too. Rumors also suggest that the AirPods 3 could come with a design similar to the current AirPods Pro, but they would feature a shorter stem and silicone earbuds to give users a more customizable fit. However, they wouldn’t offer you active noise cancellation.
There is also a rumor that Apple is also working on an update to the AirPods Pro. These new earbuds could hit the market with a new design that resembles the recently launched Beats Studio Buds, which means Apple might plan on completely removing the stems of its future earbuds. However, we might have to wait until the first half of 2022 to see if that happens or not.
