It’s been a while since Apple updated their AirPods. The last time we saw a new AirPod was when Apple launched it with wireless charging support, we haven’t heard anything else since then. However, if you’ve been hoping for some changes or improvements, you might want to hold on.
Because, according to a report from Nikkei Asia, Apple should start production of the AirPods 3 in August. This means that when production is complete, or at least underway, it will be in time for Apple’s iPhone event in September, which is where we imagine the company will likely announce the new models.
Not much is known about the AirPods 3’s features so far, but when it comes to the design, leaked photos and renders suggested that Apple will be making some minor changes to the look, such as: For example, shorten the stem, change the shape of the earbuds, and the new case will be similar to that of the AirPods Pro.
That being said, we’re not sure what changes Apple will make in terms of sound quality or other features so we’ll just have to wait and see.
